History of Taste

According to a record found in the kitchen notebooks dating back to the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, baklava was first prepared in the month of Şaban in the year 1473 at Topkapı Palace. Another historical account about the origins of baklava is documented in the writings of Evliya Çelebi, dating back to the mid-17th century.
